They apply to every order, unless the signed quote says otherwise. Last updated: 11 October 2026 ## 01** Purpose and scope** These terms apply to PC building and sales, troubleshooting, repair and IT maintenance, data recovery and advice provided by Romain Ayme, sole proprietor, under the name Karom Info (the Provider), to individuals and businesses (the Client). Placing an order means accepting these terms. ## 02** Quotes, diagnosis and orders** Before any paid work, the Provider presents a quote or a diagnosis with the price, the parts and the expected time. The Client agrees before work starts. If the work reveals an additional need, the Provider asks for the Client's agreement before going ahead. Quotes are valid for 30 days. ## 03** Prices** Prices are in euros. The quote or invoice states whether prices exclude or include tax, and which VAT regime applies. Component prices move with the market: the price of a PC is guaranteed by the quote during its validity. ## 04** Payment** Payment is due when the equipment is handed over or when the work ends, by bank transfer or another method the Provider accepts. For a PC build or any parts order, a deposit may be asked at the order; the quote says so. Business clients pay within 30 days at most of receiving the invoice, with late penalties of three times the legal interest rate and a fixed 40 EUR recovery fee. Goods sold remain the Provider's property until paid in full. ## 05** Handover and deadlines** Equipment is handed over in person in the Toulon area or shipped; shipping costs are stated in the quote. Deadlines are indicative: they depend on parts availability at suppliers. The Provider warns the Client of any major delay. ## 06** Custom PC building** The Client approves the configuration in the quote. Components are new unless stated otherwise. If a component is no longer available, the Provider offers an equivalent or better one, and the Client agrees. Before handover, the PC is assembled, tested (boot, temperatures, stability) and its system is installed as the quote states. ## 07** Troubleshooting and repair** The Provider finds the fault, proposes the repair and waits for the Client's agreement before replacing a part. Replaced parts are returned to the Client on request. The repair is guaranteed for the fault treated, for the period stated in the quote or invoice. The Provider need not repair equipment whose repair cost exceeds its value; it tells the Client. ## 08** Data recovery** Data recovery is an obligation of means: the Provider cannot guarantee that all or part of the data will be recovered. It diagnoses before working, then states in the quote what is due and when. The Client certifies it owns the data or is allowed to access it. The Provider keeps the data confidential, uses it only for the service, and erases it after returning it, unless the Client asks otherwise. If the media is too damaged, work in a specialist laboratory may be offered under a separate quote. ## 09** Backups** The Client backs up its data before any work. The Provider takes care to preserve it, but is not liable for the loss of data that was not backed up, unless at fault. ## 10** Warranties** For new goods sold to a consumer, the legal warranty of conformity (articles L217-3 and following of the French Consumer Code) and the warranty against hidden defects (articles 1641 and following of the Civil Code) apply. Components also carry their manufacturer's warranty, which the Provider helps to use. The warranty does not cover normal wear, misuse, shock, liquid, power surge, opening or modification by a third party, or software installed by the Client. ## 11** Right of withdrawal** A consumer Client buying at a distance has 14 days after receiving the goods to withdraw without giving a reason. This right does not apply to goods made to the Client's specifications, such as a custom-built PC. For a service, if the Client asks for it to start before the period ends, it pays for the part already performed if it withdraws; a service fully performed with its express consent can no longer be withdrawn. Work done at the Client's home or in the workshop at the Client's request is not a distance sale. ## 12** Liability** The Provider has an obligation of means. Its liability is limited to direct damage and does not exceed the amount paid for the service concerned, except for personal injury or gross negligence. It is not liable for indirect damage (loss of business or income). ## 13** Personal data** Personal data processing is described in the legal notice. ## 14** Governing law and disputes** These terms are governed by French law. In a dispute, the parties first seek an amicable solution. A consumer Client may use a consumer mediator free of charge. Failing agreement, the French courts have jurisdiction, and those of the Provider's registered office for business clients. A question about these terms?
